No one is turned away for financial reasons
Some people assume that because Hospice of the Panhandle’s care is so encompassing, it might be unaffordable.
Thankfully, our core hospice services wherever the patient calls home are typically covered in full by Medicare, WV Medicaid or private insurance.
Due to generous donations from our community, no one is denied hospice care regardless of insurance coverage or ability to pay. Hospice of the Panhandle is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing care for any eligible person.
All hospice patients receive our core services, including:
- Professional and volunteer staff support
- Medical supplies related to the hospice diagnosis
- 24-hour on-call support by a hospice physician, nurse, social worker and chaplain
- Grief support for the patient and family
Residential care at our Inpatient Facility requires a fee. To discuss eligibility requirements, fees and insurance coverage, please call 304.264.0406.
