Resources
Hospice of the Panhandle serves as a resource to the communities it serves with regard to end-of-life issues. Education is provided in a variety of ways:
- Programs for any community group including clubs, service organizations, groups of retirees, and employees
- Newspaper articles in area daily and weekly publications
- Quarterly newsletter, The Comforter
- Age and content appropriate presentations to elementary, middle, high school and college classes
- Rotation opportunities and internships for nursing and social work students
- Rotation opportunities and presentations to medical students
- Distribution of informational materials
- Sponsorship of educational conferences for health care and other professionals
- A lending library of books, tapes, DVDs about end-of-life and related topics
