“We wish we had known about hospice sooner…”


This is one of the most common complaints heard by hospice programs after a patients dies.  Many patients fail to access hospice services early in their decline because they were never told about the benefits of care or encouraged to call. Hospice of the Panhandle is committed to providing medical professionals with the information and support they need to comfortably refer and follow a patient in hospice.

The Hospice of the Panhandle Provider Relations Representative is responsible for providing ongoing education to physicians and their office staff, hospital and nursing home staff. Regular visits are made to area health care providers to troubleshoot and handle questions and concerns as they arise. The Provider Relations Representative is able to provide educational programs to any group.  A monthly publication called “Key Notes” is also distributed along with occasional applicable articles.

The West Virginia Board of Examiners certifies Hospice of the Panhandle to provide continuing education units for Registered Professional Nurses.
