Hospice of the Panhandle serves as a resource to the communities it serves with regard to end-of-life issues. Education is provided in a variety of ways:

  • Speaking engagements to any community group including clubs, service organizations, groups of retirees, and employees
  • Newspaper articles in area daily and weekly publications
  • Quarterly newsletter, The Comforter
  • Age and content appropriate presentations to elementary, middle, high school and college classes
  • Rotation opportunities and internships for nursing and social work students
  • Rotation opportunities and presentations to medical students
  • Distribution of informational materials
  • Sponsorship of educational conferences for a variety of health care and other professionals
  • Maintenance of a lending library of books, tapes, DVDs about end-of-life and related topics
